The Entrance Hall
The entrance-hall has an eight-cornered form. In four walls of the room there are glass-panel doors with fanlights. Above the wooden panels of the other four walls there are paintings of castle ruins from the Livonia province (Vastselina, Turaida, Koknese and Cesis). In the vault centre there hangs an eight-branched brass chandelier made in 1775.
In the vault-folds complicated vignettes with 16 town coat of arms are restored. Both the entrance-hall and the staircase have teracco floor, which was made in 1888 by Italian masters of the Johann Odorico company in Frankfurt-on-Main.
Old-German aphorisms, idioms and maxims in gothic letters, saturated with old-German terms, constitute interesting details of interior finish. These inscriptions serve as a unifying component part of interior decor, as a decoration with value of arts like Arabic scripts, which can be read only by a few
